Our Supports

Everyone working on The Autism Site receives training and opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills, specifically tailored to working with autistic people.

The training covers a broad range of topics, including positive behaviour support, sensory processing, using AAC devices for communication, neurodiversity-affirming language, the importance of routines and habits, culturally-tailored approaches, strengths-based practices and much, much, more. This ensures every worker can confidently meet the individual needs and goals of all our valued clients and support them to live life well.

Fees

Support Workers

Support Workers on The Autism Site are independent contractors. This means rates are not set and can be negotiated and agreed directly with each support worker. The agreed rates must then be recorded in the service agreement which your support worker will send to you to sign.

There are two charges applied to all bookings:

  • the Platform Fee - 7.95%
  • the Service Fee - 8%

The Platform Fee
The Autism Site Platform Fee is 7.95%, this is in addition to the hourly rate agreed between the client and support worker. The total cost (including the platform fee) must not exceed the maximum hourly rate indicated in the current NDIS Pricing Arrangements.

For example, if you agree with your support worker on a rate of $55 per hour, your total cost will be $55 (the 'agreed rate') + $4.37 (Platform Fee) = $59.37 per hour. This is within the maximum hourly rate for daytime weekday shifts as stated in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements (currently $67.56).

The Service Fee
Support Workers registered on The Autism Site are charged a support worker fee of 8% which is deducted from the agreed hourly rate.

For example, if you are a support worker and agree to a rate of $55 per hour with your participant, you will earn $55 (the 'agreed rate') - $4.40 (the Service Fee, which covers insurance, the running costs of our platform, and administration) = $50.60 (your take-home as a support worker).

The above charges include administration (service agreements, invoices and payment claims and processing) which is all taken care of for you and the platform operational and running costs. Also, all support workers on The Autism Site are covered by Autism Abilities' comprehensive insurance policy, giving you complete peace of mind. It is important to note that bookings must be made and shifts approved through the platform to ensure you are covered by our insurance.
